Joh James & Colt45 Team-Up!

My alter ego Jose Holder has written a Wolverine/Sasquatch tale and found a diamond in the rough to bring it to life. Jerry Lando, a.k.a. Colt45 on the boards, is a sleeping giant bound for comic book stardom. His heavy contrasted approach is reminiscent of many great influences, but Colt carries it off with a fluid uniqueness that the masses will come to love.
As contestants in an online contest over on DW we collectively won the pot (but never a prize), and kept in touch ever since. When I wrote "Black Rain" it was with the intent of showing the full range of my abilities to Marvel and respective publishers. But Jerry's art is just so beautiful I decided to take a back seat and let his work take the spotlight. He's a far better artist than I was at his age. Thanks, Jerr!

More details to come on when and where it airs. Thanks to Leland, Mei-Ling, and the EP staff for a great experience.

ABIGAIL: A Western Short

These western comic pages are a product of a collaboration between Battle Star Galactica writer Seamus Fahey and myself. He wrote a terrific throwback to the silver screen era of westerns and infused it with cinematic charm. Since we both swim in tv waters it really was a match made in heaven! More details to come on this 12-pager of ours and how you get a copy!

What has six arms, razor sharp talons, enough "bling" to make a rap star blush, and a talent for Bolero dancing? Damned if I know, but I sure as hell loved putting it to paper!!!
This is a concept piece I did for a very good friend of mine who's talented beyond belief. I tried to incorporate her likeness into the linework and played with a number of eclectic influences (sci-fi to Indian mythology and everything in between) to come up with "Bolero Babe". Really hope she likes it. Cheers, All!

ESOA : The beginning.

Madness and mayhem!!! The birth of Esoa! An tale of epic proportions! It's taking shape, and I can't stop it!
Esoa : The God Trial[s] are coming! I expect this project to span well over a hundred pages and showcase my work in new ways. It's been years in the making and I'm finally putting the beast to bed. Above are plot points and story notes outlining what will eventually become an original graphic novel. I love using boards to post and arrange my ideas as they arise. A quick revelation later and I can move arcs or fill story gaps with "stick it" ease.
This piece of work will tantalize, offend, inspire, and hopefully educate. But I'll settle for good ol' fashioned entertainment. I'll check in with updates.
